Fun with Bubble Wrap

What is it about a simple sheet of Bubble Wrap that can happily entertain a human being?  This simple piece of plastic bag like paper with air infused into it in small even spaced increments can easily put a smile on one's face and amuse a person for minutes (or hours depending on how large the piece).  I remember one day while working, I had co-workers popping bubble wrap paper and just having a grand ole' time.  I noticed a day or so later one of my co-workers opened up her desk drawer and began popping the bubbles.  I asked her what she was doing?  She said, this is stress release and relief.  Here she was squirreling away the bubble wrap and popping them when she needed a "fix".  I thought it was funny and weird at the same time.

Yesterday I finally received a very long awaited UPS package, which included my bathroom accessories.  Some of the items were breakable, and they were wrapped in bubble wrap to protect them.  My daughter spotted the bubble wrap and you think she found gold.  Ok, maybe to her this was gold.   She asked if she could have a sheet of the plastic bubble wrap and began popping bubbles happily.  Then my son needed to get into the action.  So for a good 10 minutes my kids were popping bubbles until there were no more bubbles to be popped.  And when they were all done, my daughters says to me, "Mom, thanks for letting me pop bubbles!" with a huge smile on her face.  Then my little guy pipes in, "thanks mommy for bubbles!"  If that wasn't worth 10 minutes of that loud annoying snapping sound, then I don't know what is.  They had fun!
