The Navy Blue and White Polka-Dotted Bathing Suit!

I feel like a kid again - you know when your Mom bought you a new outfit or in my case, I bought a new bathing suit - and you just couldn't wait to wear it!

Wearing a bathing suit hasn't been my favorite thing to do in a long while.  I've been pregnant on and off since 2003 with two kids to show for it even though I've been pregnant 4 times.  In less then 3 years I was actually pregnant 3 times.  Pregnancies were not necessarily kind to my poor 4 foot 10 3/4 inch body.  I am embarrassed to say that I weighed 165 lbs at the end of my pregnancy with my daughter in 2006.  Most of it was cell fluid retention from pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome and I eventually lost all but 2-3 lbs by the time my daughter was 1 years old.  Then I found out I was pregnant with my son - several months later.  He, unfortunately, all but totally destroyed my body.  I never had stretch marks with my daughter, he laced my body with them.  My skin bounced back on my tummy after my daughter, not with my son - its quite depressing.  I call them battle scars!  And it was all for a good cause!  Doesn't help that I was an "older" mommy and had 2 c-section deliveries too!

Back in November the stomach virus hit my house.  It was the jump start I needed to shed the last 12-15 lbs I needed to shed to get back to my pre-babies weight.  So I took this small but helpful 3-pound weight loss and ran with it.  I began to exercise for 30 minutes every day on the elliptical machine that's been gathering dust in my bedroom.  Then during the holidays my dog got sick, extreme stress causes me to lose my appetite and I dropped a couple more pounds.  The dog died, I shed a couple more pounds and then my son landed in the hospital for 19 days.  Yep, you guessed right ... I hit my goal weight and then some!  So now I've been able to hold steady within 1-2 pounds under my goal weight.  Ideally, I'd love to get myself back down to 100 pounds or make my plateau weight 102, but I am now a 40-something year old so I'll be happy with what I accomplished thus far!

We are members of a pool once again this summer and we'll be taking a much needed vacation in the not too distant future, so I needed a new bathing suit.  I found the cutest bathing suit that just had my name written all over it "its a navy blue bathing suit with white polka dots".  Its a tank-ini top with a cute foo-foo skirt bottom from Lands End.  I so can't wait until my package arrives via UPS in a couple of days.

Lets hope that the picture of the suit and the actual bathing suit are one in the same and the suit looks fabulous on this here body!  Nothing would dampen my spirits and deflate my fun more if it didn't!
