If only the GPS could "really talk"

Today the kids and I went to visit some friends.  A play date that we've been trying to schedule for months - between illnesses, dog's death, hospital stays - we've had to cancel out play dates and family fun dates with our friends.  And its really stunk, because we love these friends!

So after my crazy day yesterday, we decided to move forward with a play date despite my children having colds since we weren't sure when the next opportunity would arise.  I'm so glad we went because my kids had a grand time and I had a great time too!  My friend and her kids use to be neighbors and moved about 20-30 minutes away - so it was like a real treat to see them.  Her son and my daughter have always been great play friends.  Her son was my daughter's first real friend!  My son and her daughter are a little over a week apart.  So its a win win visit.  I get to have great adult time with my friend and the kids get to have a mess of fun together!

Anyway, I decided to use the GPS to get to their house even though I've been there a couple of times.  I couldn't remember the name of the road I needed to turn down so I figured the GPS would get me there if I just drove along!

Of course, the GPS is very particular in the directions it chooses for you.  I  often know a quicker way or a more scenic way so I'll supersede the GPS' chosen route.  So as I drive along, I hear the GPS say, take a left on "blah, blah road" and I just keep going straight.  Then I hear the voice say "recalculating route".  Then 2 seconds later I hear the voice say "in 0.2 miles turn left on "blah blah road", again I use my power of superseding and the GPS says "recalculating route".  So after the fourth time or so, I was waiting for the GPS to say "god damn you pain in the ass driver, I said turn left on the next god-damn road already - why do you use me anyway?".

If only the GPS could really talk, I'm sure it would have given me a mouthful today!
