When you become a parent, you often find that your children echo things that you say. Some good things and some not so good things.
Today while cleaning my upstairs, my son asks me what I am doing. I told him I'm cleaning. Then of course you get the whole "why" conversation going. He eventually leaves the room I'm cleaning and then I find him right behind me as I'm in the tub/shower giving it a good cleaning. Once again he asks me what I am doing. I told him I'm cleaning the tub/shower and giving it a good shine! He says to me "Mommy are you being careful"? Which I thought was a silly question until it dawned on me that we always tell him to sit down in the tub so he doesn't get hurt. So I said to him, "yes, I'm being very careful". Then he says to me "Mommy - you're being careful! I don't want to lose you Mommy, OK?!" Which put a big smile on my face and I turned to him and said - "I am going to be very careful because I don't want you to lose me."
I know I tell my kids when I am fearful they will get hurt to "be careful, I don't want to lose you, because I love you so much!"
Its just so sweet and funny to hear the phrases of endearment that I say to my kids, come back at me in the sweetest and cutest ways.
