Where I was born, raised and continue to reside - our professional sports teams have given us a lot of ups and downs. In the 1980's and 1990's we had a competitive football team in the Browns. In the mid-to-late 1990's we had our pro-baseball team, the Indians and in the mid to late 2000's we had the Cavaliers, our NBA team. Of course, all teams disappointed when it came to winning the "big games" - but the ride was always fun no matter what!
So I get the whole "sports" thing!
I use to hang out with guys a lot. For me, guys were better "fun" friends than my female friends. I am probably more tomboy then "prissy girl" and that's why. I'd rather go to a sporting event, or play sports than go to the mall or antique shops or go to craft fairs, etc. I even went on an overnight golf trip with 6 guy friends back in my younger single days - I had a blast, just being one of the guys!
But the thing that just baffles me about men and sports (sorry guys for singling you all out here) is they can remember every simple thing that happened in any one of those professional games down to the exact second (it seems). I'm lucky if I remember what I did 5 minutes ago let alone plays that professional athletes did in a game that was 2-3 hours long!
My husband and brothers can discuss a round of golf where they can replay the whole 18-hole game back with exact details of their shots and what club they used at any given time. Not me - but that could be because I took more shots then they did! (ha ha).
My husband is really good at remembering all these "sports" things in great detail but, I kid you not, if I ask him to go the grocery store and pick up 5 items he always manages to forget at least one item from the list!
LOL! Its the same in my house. Even my 6 yr old can remember WHO scored in WHICH game and WHO ended up winning in almost any Blue Jackets hockey game this year! He's 6! I just don't get that male brain. Its apparently not taught, it's inherited. :)
