Isn't it Ironic ...

I always thought the song "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette was poignant yet humorous.  I know that statement in and of itself is a bit "ironic".

If you don't know the song lyrics they paraphrase like this  ...
  • You got an old man that dies the day after he wins the lottery.
  • You find that after paying for a ride its actually free.
  • You're stuck in a traffic jam even though you're already late.
  • You meet the man of your dreams and then a few minutes later you meet his beautiful wife.
You get the drift.

So today when I was waiting for a train to make its way, I noticed that there was a police car and an ambulance, both with their lights flashing, waiting too.  They were the first vehicles that were stopped by the passing train.  This train was not moving too fast either.  I hoped the person who was in need of the ambulance was okay enough to be able to wait for the ambulance to arrive.  The train eventually passes after a good couple of minutes - and the ambulance and police cars take off and sure as you know it they turn into the park entrance that is roughly 100 yards away from the train tracks.  All I could think of was the song "Ironic" by Alanis Morissette.

Its so true that in my life "irony" speaks the loudest.
